How to Set Your Default Speakers on Mac and Windows

For Mac Users

  1. Click the Apple menu and select System Settings (called System Preferences on macOS 12 and earlier).

  2. Click Sound in the sidebar, then open Output.

  3. Choose your speakers or headset from the list.

For Windows 11 Users

  1. Right-click the speaker icon in the system tray (bottom-right of your screen) and select Sound settings, or go to Settings > System > Sound.

  2. Under Output, choose your speakers or headset.

  3. For the classic Playback tab, scroll down, click More sound settings, then right-click your device and choose Set as Default Device.
