Apollo Enrichment Integration
Last updated: May 11, 2026
This guide covers the Apollo API Passthrough Enrichment Integration in Nooks. It will walk through the steps to connect Apollo to Nooks, how the enrichment feature works, and some frequently asked questions about the integration.
Background
Nooks Enrichment helps users quickly get new mobile numbers and email addresses for their prospects. This tool helps reps save time, increase coverage, and improve connect rates by streamlining the data enrichment process.
The Apollo enrichment integration enables reps to leverage Apollo for enrichment prospect phone numbers and emails within Nooks. Reps can use Nooks either as a standalone provider or as part of a waterfall enrichment process, which sequentially searches multiple providers for new phone numbers.
Setup Requirements
The Nooks <> Apollo integration requires you to be a current Apollo customer.
To complete the setup steps, you will need to be an admin user in Apollo and an admin or manager in Nooks.
Integration Setup Steps
Follow the steps below to connect the Apollo <> Nooks Enrichment integration.
Step 1: Generate Apollo API Key
To connect Apollo to Nooks, you need to obtain an API Key in Apollo. To do this:
Log in to Apollo using user admin credentials.
In the lower-left corner of the navigation menu, select Settings > Integrations.

Scroll down the list of integrations until you find API. Press Connect to the right-hand side.

In the left-hand menu, press API Keys. Then, press the yellow Create New Key button.

Configure the API Key in the pop-up window.
Provide any name and description.
Recommended: Set the API Key as a Master Key using the Set as master key toggle.
Alternatively, associate the api/v1/people/match and api/v1/people/bulk_match with the key.
Press the Create API Key button in the bottom right corner.

Press the clipboard icon to copy the API key.

Do not navigate away from this page until you have entered the API Key into Nooks.
Step 2: Enter the API Key in Nooks
Once you have the API Key, head to the settings page in Nooks to connect the Apollo Enrichment integration. To do this:
Open the Nooks web app.
In the left-hand navigation menu, click Settings > All Settings.
Under Integrations, click Nooks Enrichment or Nooks Numbers.
Click the Connect Apollo button.
In the pop-up window, enter the API Key you copied from Apollo.
Press the Connect Apollo button in the lower-right of the pop-up.

Once the Apollo API Passthrough Integration is connected, users will be able to use Apollo to find new phone numbers and email addresses in Nooks.
Phone Number Enrichment Integration
When using Apollo for prospect phone number enrichment, Nooks attempts to find a net-new mobile phone number for the prospect. Nooks will not leverage Apollo to look for phone numbers of other types (e.g., work, “other”, or unknown phone numbers) for the prospect.
If your team has configured successful phone enrichments to map to a field in your CRM, Nooks will map new mobile numbers found in Apollo to the designated field on the corresponding prospects' CRM records.
DNC List Screening during Phone Number Enrichment
The Nooks <> Apollo API passthrough integration helps ensure that Do Not Call screening is applied during the enrichment process. Nooks is not a data provider, but a vehicle for enrichment integration partners, such as Apollo, to enrich in Nooks. Nooks reflects the logic and suppression rules already established in Apollo to identify and suppress restricted numbers at the time of enrichment in Nooks. Nooks solely relies on Apollo’s API to filter these contacts before they are surfaced in Nooks.
This guide in Apollo's help center contains more information on how Apollo handles DNC suppression.
Email Enrichment with Apollo
Nooks Enrichment attempts to enrich emails by checking each provider in the waterfall, one at a time. To ensure high deliverability, Nooks filters out any email addresses that have bounced within the last 90 days.
Successfully enriched email addresses are written back to the standard email field in your CRM.
Apollo Credit Usage
Enriching phone numbers and emails via Apollo consumes credits from your organization's balance with Apollo. Credits are not deducted from your Nooks Enrichment credit balance.
Apollo Enrichment Integration Health Monitoring
Nooks will alert you if an error is detected with your Apollo API passthrough integration. There are two potential errors that will appear.
Apollo credentials are no longer working. Enrichments using Apollo will fail – contact an admin or manager to reconnect.
Where this error appears: This error will appear at the top of the Nooks Numbers page and at the top of the Nooks Enrichment or Nooks Numbers settings page. A "Credentials Error" chip will also appear next to Apollo in the Data Providers section of the Nooks Enrichment or Nooks Numbers settings page.
How to resolve this error: This error indicates Nooks has lost connection to the integration, most often because your Apollo API key has expired or been deleted. To resolve this error, try reconnecting to the Apollo enrichment integration.
Apollo enrichment credits are exhausted. Contact an admin or manager to purchase more credits.

Nooks currently displays when your team has exhausted your Apollo universal credits. However, there is not currently a way to cap the number of credits used from Apollo.
Can Nooks use Apollo's native Waterfall Enrichment through the Nooks <> Apollo API passthrough integration?

You can also create a custom Waterfall in Nooks Numbers settings to select Apollo’s position in your team’s Nooks Numbers Waterfall relative to Nooks’ other integration partners’ positions.
