How call dispositions affect dialing multiple numbers for prospects
Last updated: December 17, 2025
When a prospect has multiple phone numbers, the system's behavior for calling subsequent numbers depends on the call disposition and how you log the call.
Connected Call Dispositions
If you connect with a prospect and log a disposition that indicates a successful connection (such as "Connected - Not interested"), the system should automatically stop calling the remaining numbers for that prospect. This prevents unnecessary additional calls once contact has been established.
Non-Connected Call Dispositions
For dispositions like "No Answer" where no connection was made, the system will continue attempting to call the prospect's other numbers. This ensures you have multiple opportunities to reach the prospect.
Logging Options and Their Impact
How you log the call affects whether dialing continues:
Log Call: The task remains in queue and will be called again when you start dialing, unless you manually toggle to skip alternate numbers
Log & Resume: Automatically skips remaining numbers and continues to the next prospect
Manual Control
Regardless of the disposition, you can manually control whether to call remaining numbers by checking the box to skip alternate numbers when logging your call. This gives you full control over the dialing behavior.
Automation Setup
Your Sales Engagement Platform (SEP) can be configured with automations that automatically determine when to stop calling additional numbers based on specific dispositions. These automations are mirrored in the dialing system. If no automations are set up, manually checking the skip box is the best practice to control dialing behavior.
